		<description>Hello Bob,

So many services are state based. Agghhh! But a quick internet search got these numbers...

Parenting Crisis Line 1800 019 116
Palmerston Parenting Support Service 08 8932 9155
Anglicare (Darwin) 08 8948 2700
Department of Health and Community (Darwin) 08 8999 4789

They're probably worth calling at the very least to find out the best people to call. Unless a NT listener knows better.

Hope this is at least a start.

<description>Hey Bob and Cam thinking these 4 things could be good. (it’s a bit of a summary of what you’ve already covered)

1) Get a list of what’s already out there to be a part of
http://www.volunteeringwa.org.au/ (wa) www.volunteering.com.au (nsw) www.volunteeringvictoria.com.au (vic) www.volunteeringsa.org.au (sa) www.volqld.org.au (qld) admin@voltasinc.com (tas) www.volunteeract.com.au (act) vol.aust@bigpond.com (nt) http://www.volunteer.com.au/ (seek.com volunteer site) might be places to start (they are pretty broad) and of course do a general shout out to find out what other people know of.

2) Do an audit of what is needed. In my experience often the what is perceived as a big problem may only be a small problem and vice versa.

3) Find out what people are keen and able to do given skills and time and how many there are of us.

4) Make a wallet size reference file so we can all be covert ninja referral agents. So when we someone in help we can say a-ha I shall call XYZ and then help arrives.

Thanks - apologies if I'm sounding to perscriptive. I think these things would be quiet easy to collect via the net and things like the mobile referral file and what agencies are already doing what could be updated wikkipedia style.

Chris (the confused) ;-P
Thanks for the apology too! appreciate it. Just wanted to make sure people didn't think I was some kind of bible bashing evangelist and that work didn't fire me for suggesting they did that.</description>

		<description>Hi all,
Another great podcast. I like Bob's thinking that the charity should be separated from faith based organisations. I also like the thinking that the charity needs to be run differently to what is currently out there.

Technology needs to be embraced and utilised to make this work and as more and more money comes in the easier it will come because money attracts money! If the money can be wisely managed it can be used to generate more and more income helping the cause infinitely.

Just a quick comment.

<description>Cam. Point of order. I think only donations of $2 or more are tax deductible in Australia. Better check that out if you're gonna push the deductability angle.
