vidcast update

I posted an ipod version of the vidcast up here earlier tonight but, upon a subsequent viewing, I discovered that for reasons known only to Apple, the audio synch went wonky about 13 minutes in. If you downloaded that version, I apologize. Working on a new version now. A Flash version should also be up in the next day or so. Please stay tuned!

    Hey Cam and Bob,
Just watched the Vidcast. A few issues as outlined above.

Also the file doesn’t seem to be compatible with the video iPod. You have to convert the file in iTunes so it will work.

Although most of the file was out of sync it was good to see some vision. It makes the words seem a little more important somehow.

I thought the discussion about the global and local division was interesting.

I have just finished reading a book titled “The World Is Flat: A Brief History of the Twenty-first Century” by New York Times journalist Thomas L. Friedman.

The book was concerned with utilising the new tools we have at our disposal in the 21st Century to empower the individual and compete in the global society.

Friedman talks of three stages in history.

The first stage was when countries became empowered globally in the race to explore the world.

The second stage was industrialisation which empowered corporations to compete for trade across the globe.

The third stage is where we are at now, and this is the most exciting stage which is technology empowering the individual to compete on a global scale.

I think this can be applied to what Bob was saying about the difference in global and local.

As a charity the vision would be to act global to empower those in need locally.

So instead of raising money locally that ends up being spread globally we need to utilise the global economy to help the locals. Just reverse the problem to create a solution.

We have all the tools to compete individually. This is great as far as a charity is concerned because manpower is often lacking.

Moving on, as I mentioned to Cameron over Skype you have a local Property Investing Millionaire located in Melbourne (www.propertyinvesting.com). Actually two, including Steve’s business partner Dave Bradley.

The interesting thing about this is that Steve McKnight aims to donate $4 million dollars to charity over the next four years. And I bet a local Charity such as the Father Bob Foundation would be high on the list if put to him.

It get’s even better though. Steve McKnight is a devoted Christian and really believes in his faith and teaching other people how to lead a more fulfilled life. Perfect!
I have just started what is called the R.E.S.U.L.T.S mentoring program. A property investing program run by Steve McKnight.

I will be in Melbourne for a bi-monthly group meet up on April 11th and could possibly put forward a proposal to him.

Anyway that is far too many words from me. And to quote bob “Not a moment to lose troops… teleporter by Sat’dy”.

Liam - sorry about the video file. When I realized the problems with it, I tried to pull it down before many people downloaded it. Still working on a better version - can’t believe it is so hard!

Coincidentally, I bought the Friedman book only an hour ago today! Looking forward to reading it.

We have to make contact with McKnight, I’ll reach out to him this week. And when you’re in Melbourne (do you mean May 11th?) you should come around and chat with Bob and I.

How funny! Did you get the revised edition or the older edition? The older one is:

The newer one was just released:

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0374292795/sr=8-2/qid=1147092280/ref=pd_bbs_2/102-4424833-4809760?%5Fencoding=UTF8

It’s a great book, my only gripe was that I like to do things in blocks and the long chapters meant allocating a lot of time just to knock one off!

I’m in Melbourne June (not May) 11th, and 12th (fly in late 10th and leave early 13th).

I’m busy all day on the 11th (or at least from around 9am-5pm), but am free all day on the 10th.

The 10th is a Saturday but if you don’t mind making time on a weekend than I’d love to meetup for a real knuckling down of ideas to get the pot boiling.

I got the paperback that hit the shelves around Melbourne this week. Can’t wait to get into it. June sounds great. Shoot me a reminder a week beforehand and we’ll lock in a time!

It seems it’s doing the rounds Bob. I can see your already breaking down boundaries with your seemingly structured lack of capitals or spaces after full stops!

Seriously though, not a moment to lose.
