The Father Bob Show #105 - Saint Bob?

After a few weeks break due to life happening, we return and talk about the coldest winter we can remember for a long time which is especially pertinent given Bob’s visual statement of constructing a mock tent city on his front lawn (more info to come). We discuss a new report published in the paper this week discussing areas in the most financial difficulty (watch this space for a visual), and the responsibility of churches and other religious denominations to care for it’s local population. We look at the appropriateness of world youth day spending and recent protests at the Olympics in Beijing regarding human rights abuses in Tibet.

We’d love some feedback via any of our contact points. Check out Bob’s Facebook page with a group for The Father Bob Show Podcast.

Support the Fr Bob Maguire Foundation by donating via PayPal or other methods at Bob’s blog or Bob’s website. Watch Bob’s video reports weekly at Father Bob’s Foundation Update Do you know of any company or individual who would like to sponsor the foundation for $7500 per year?

Theme music is provided by the Monks and Choirs of Kiev Pechersk Lavra performing “Chants of the Russian Orthodox Church“.

    Hey there Bob and Michaela,

Intereting to here Bob mention $45,000 as hard to get buy on for a family. I’m only $5,000 over this and supporting two kids and wife - nice to know that I’m probably not miss managing money when I find it hard to make ends meet.

Also Bob you might be glad to know I heard an answer to your question of when does a fetus become a baby. Acording to Jewish Ethicist Rabbi Professor Avraham Steinber it’s 40 days. See http://www.abc.net.au/rn/religionreport/stories/2008/2333975.htm and http://www.abc.net.au/rn/religionreport/stories/2008/2347887.htm

Thanks again for a great show.

    Chris
